In the Adelaide Hills
Adelaide Hills is such a beautiful spot and so close to the city. We love bringing more that just the wine at Winenutt, click above to see our video of our day out the Adelaide Hills. It isn’t always about the wine deal it’s also about the the experience. We love the wine region of the Adelaide Hills here the coolness of the region’s altitude and its changing seasons shape the wines. Very well known for it’s Sauvignon Blanc you will find Bird in Hand, Nepenthe, Shaw and Smith, Barristers Block, Tomich and many more great winemakers. The first vines were planted in the Adelaide Hills in the late 1800s but the region didn’t really gain ground until the 1970s when the popularity of cool climate wines rose.
As it was a little chilly, we stared the day with a steaming cup of coffee at The Scenic Hotel at Norton Summit and then we moved onto Woodside.
We loved visiting the Woodside Cheese Wrights and Melba’s Chocolate Factory where you can get a Chocolate Bilby. The story behind the Chocolate Bilby is very heartwarming. There is also a little whiskey shop and other great spots you can visit easily in a day! Stop at the Lobethal Bakery for it’s famous delicacies.
he Adelaide Hills region was devastated by the Cudlee Creek bushfires and they are now well on the way to getting back on thier feet. Help the businesses out with your visit and trade. You can also support them by buying their wines and we have some great wine deals from the region. If you love this region we have some great red wine, white wine and sparkling wine deals from this region. Check out our Adelaide Hills page for the deals.
We hope you get up to the hills and enjoy one of these great cheese platters and much more. We will have lots of places to visit and food experiences included.
