The Adelaide Hills is a fantastic wine region, known for it’s cool climate style and contemporary varieties and styles.
We have an extensive range of excellent wines available from a vast array of Adelaide Hills wineries. We love the wine region of the Adelaide Hills where the cool climate and the region’s altitude and changing seasons shape the wines. They are very well known for Sauvignon Blanc. You’ll find classic producers such as Bird in Hand, Nepenthe, Shaw and Smith, Barristers Block, Tomich.
Plus so many more great producers along the way.
Interestingly, the first vines were planted in the Adelaide Hills in the late 1800s but the region didn’t really gain ground until the 70s when the popularity of cool climate wines rose.
Now, you’ll find some excellent old world winemakers crafting true to Old World France, with elegant Pinot Noir’s, beautiful white pepper forward softer style Shiraz, and crispy dry Chardonnays.
The winemakers of the Adelaide Hills really do it all.
There are also a bunch of new kids on the block pressing forward with new styles and varietals, unseen in Australia. We’re talking Blaufrankisch, Graciano, Zinfandel and other exotics. If you’re ever up that way, make sure you stop everywhere you can and try some Australia’s finest wine.
Or… contact Winenutt and we’ll be happy to talk you through some of our favourites and get you started on your journey up the hill!
