Georges Clare Valley Exile Cabernet Sauvignon

Aged in seasoned French and American oak hogsheads, a deep ruby hue sets the tone for a complex nose of dark fruit, violet and cedar, intermingling with bay leaf and prune.

The 2016 vintage in the Clare Valley followed a mild, wet winter and dry spring/summer, yet overall without any worrying temperature peaks or troughs, the climate managed to ripen the Clare Valley’s
small crops relatively quickly.

A wine of complex and intense character. A rich palate opens with luscious blueberry notes, guiding bright acid and mouth-coating, silty tannins that carry smooth secondary notes of cacao and vanilla. Drink now, will reward cellaring of five years.

Would pair well with Foodnutt’s Lamb Biryani

The Armagh Vineyard, previously known as the Springwood Vineyard, provides low-yielding, dry-grown shiraz grapes nurtured on a desirable clay over limestone soil profile across four distinct blocks planted from 1996 to 2000.

Cropped intently at just 2-2.5 tonnes per acre to attain the flavour intensity required, each of the blocks brings to the winemakers their unique character, from rich plum and dark berry notes to balanced savoury and spice elements, as well as tasteful, peppery tannins to medium bodied, gastronomic appeal.

The resulting Georges shiraz wines sourced from Armagh have for two decades been much loved by consumers and garnered solid reviews and scores from some of the most respected wine critics in the country.

Georges Auburn Vineyard, previously known as the Bass Hill Vineyard, adds a range of exciting winemaking options with its 11 varieties planted across various soil types including the famous terra rossa red-brown clay and loam over limestone.
