“Inspired by the rosés of Provence, this is a wine of medium salmon pink hue, bursting with all the primary vibrancy of Adelaide Hills pinot in fresh strawberry, raspberry and morello cherry fruit. This cool site at 500m of elevation in Lobethal cuts it with a formidable razor of natural acidity, infusing a superpower rarely possessed by rosé: endurance in the cellar.”

“Every year, tasting the new releases of Mike Press Wines fills me with a sense of wonder: how is it possible that such beautifully made wines should have such impossibly low prices? It’s been the case for so long, I eventually took the decision to give the winery five stars every year in my Wine Companion regardless of the points. No other winery has achieved that acknowledgment.”

James Halliday

Mike and Judy fell in love with the Rosé wines of Provence and wanted to make a similar one from their single vineyard high in the Adelaide Hills.

This is not a sweet pink drink, but a serious wine predominantly made from Pinot Noir and some Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in a wine of intense flavour and a long dry finish. The wine has the wonderful “eye of the partridge colour” of true Rosé.

Fresh complex fruit which is shows a lingering and well balance mouth feel, but well balanced with a dry finish. The wine shows great body and structure. Seamlessly balanced in boy and structure. Cherry and strawberry fruit with a savoury, crisp dry finish on the palate.
