Rich dark red in colour with a dark purple rim, the nose shows rich concentrated red and blue fruits, dark chocolate and rich mocha notes with hints of spice and cedary oak.
The palate is rich and plush with good structure. There is a concentrated layer of berry fruit and oak which is balanced with the fine tannins to give length and power while finishing soft and full of flavour.
This wine can be enjoyed now but will also improve with careful cellaring.
DRAGONFLY LANGHORNE CREEK SHIRAZ
To some, the Dragonfly is a beautifully coloured and agile creature, while to others it is a symbol of courage, strength and happiness. To us it a reminder of the tranquil landscape of Chain of Ponds, where the Dragonfly was a charming visitor to the watering holes scattered throughout our district.
Selected Shiraz from premium vineyards throughout Adelaide was vinified using a combination of fermentation styles and French oak to build complexity and structure. The wine has lifted aromas of spice, dark cherry and plums, with a rich, full-flavoured palate of forest fruits and vanilla, finishing with soft tannins and excellent length. It tastes great now and will reward patient cellaring.
Pairs well with Potato gnocchi or a rich beef ragu.
