Congratulations to Taylor’s Wines, a South Australian local legend, for winning the top prize at the 32nd annual MUNDUS VINI Grand International Wine Award held in Germany. Taylor’s Wines Jaraman Adelaide Hills and Clare Valley Chardonnay, sold for just $26 a bottle, won the gold medal and the “Best of Show Australian White” award, as the best drop in the world.
About The Wine
This exceptional wine has intense lifted aromas of melon and white peach, with subtle savory notes from the French oak. The well-balanced palate delivers classic flavors of melon and peach, along with creamy notes from the lees stirring. The wine has a restrained, tight structure overall, yet still displays a subtle measure of creaminess. Making it an ideal accompaniment to fresh seafood mollusks, such as oysters, mussels, or clams, straight from the sea.
The Jaraman Chardonnay is a blend of grapes from the Adelaide Hills and Clare Valley wine regions, showcasing the best of both regions in the finished blend. This wine is an exceptional value at under $25 a bottle, offering bright and expressive qualities that make Australian wines loved worldwide. It won the prestigious title of “Best of Show Australian White,” beating over 7,500 wines from 46 countries at the MUNDUS VINI Grand International Wine Award.

You can see why this has one of the most impressive wine show records in Australia – not least the previous vintage taking out BEST SHIRAZ IN AUSTRALIA in the 2015 Visy Shiraz Challenge. It is elegant with pristine fruit intensity and superb balance. Aromas and flavours of blackberry, plum, vanilla pod and liquorice abound. Simply delicious. The tannins silky and flavour very very long. And now with the VINUS International Wine and Spirits Competition 2022 top prize… what are you waiting for?
At release, this Shiraz is a dark red colour with ruby red hues. On the nose the wine displays dark plum, redcurrant and red cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice. The palate is plump & generous with ripe fruit characters of plum, cherry and redcurrant. Mocha coffee and subtle aniseed characters are also present along with vanillan oak to balance the fruit flavours. The wine is medium-bodied with a soft mid-palate & pleasing tannin structure. It is a well balanced wine with great texture, good length and enjoyable fruit flavours on the finish. The wine was matured in American oak for 12 months followed by fining, minimal filtration & bottling. Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.

While the label and packaging may reflect the previous vintage, rest assured that you will receive the newly released 2021 vintage. The change in vintage does not compromise the exceptional quality and character that Taylors Estate Shiraz is known for.
The 2021 vintage showcases the same dedication to craftsmanship and meticulous vineyard practices that have made this wine a favorite among Shiraz enthusiasts.
