Meanwhile, Three Springs Farm Vineyard occupies the historic site of the original family Estate.

The Vintage

Let’s dive into the Vintage of 2019, where the growing season kicked off with a warmer-than-average winter and spring. A few sizzling moments followed, but we soon found ourselves blessed with near perfect conditions as harvest dates approached. While some blocks experienced early sugar accumulation without complete flavour development. The winemakers knew that there was no substitute for spending significant time in the vineyards. With careful canopy and moisture management, the flavour components caught up, resulting in exceptional quality despite lower yields.

Our focus is on minimal handling, allowing the oak to provide structural framing rather than overpowering the flavour profile. Maturing gracefully for 12-14 months in barrels, “Schild Estate Shiraz” often undergoes a light filtration and fining prior to bottling, ensuring the wine is at its best.
